Cartoon OtterView Ridge is an inclusive community composed of many different kinds of learners. Since 1982, our self-contained Dyspraxia Program has served children from preschool through fifth grade, providing intensive language and sensorimotor-based services to meet each dyspraxic student’s individual needs. Our Spectrum program serves students determined academically gifted according to district standards, offering a rigorous curriculum at an accelerated pace. We serve many students with special needs at View Ridge, including special medical needs. With a nurse, counselor, school psychologist, audiologists, occupational and speech therapists, resource room, Learning Assistance Program, and even a Developmental Preschool, View Ridge has many resources available for students and families.

Families and View Ridge

Parents and families are a valued part of View Ridge’s approach to learning. View Ridge has an exceptionally involved Parent Teacher Association which supports children, teachers, and classrooms in a variety of ways. We have a large number of volunteers at View Ridge who assist teachers in and out of class. When community members need an extra hand, our Family Support program provides meals, transportation, and other needed assistance. In addition, our PTA offers a number events designed to build connections, such as “Boo Ridge,” a late-October night of fun and costumes, and our annual Pancake Breakfast and Pre-Loved Book Sale in February. We also hold fall and spring picnics, a family dance, an Arts Night, Science Fair, Ice Cream Social, and many other events and activities.

FAQ

How do I keep informed about what is happening at View Ridge Elementary?

You can find information about our school three ways: KidMail (papers coming home in your child's take home folder), the Newsette/You Otter Know newsletters and this website (check out the View Ridge A-Zs).

Where do I park?

Good question! View Ridge Elementary does not have a parking lot and parking is tight. Sandpoint Community Church does allow us the use of the north end of its parking lot. We would suggest that you drive behind the church and use this lot to drop off/pick up your children. If parking in the neighborhood, please be a good neighbor and be careful not to block driveways and park close to the curb on 50th Avenue NE so that school and city buses can get through.
