ATTENTION ALL OTTERS!
LATE BREAKING NEWS!
TEACHER PARADE ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 17, 2:00 PM!
Please join us–social distantly!–for our last big hurrah of the year!
This is a first for all of us, and we are all super excited! Teachers and staff will gather at the church parking lot in their cars, and will take the following assigned route through our neighborhood, VERY SLOWLY. Families can come out ANYWHERE along the route, whether that is on lawns, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, etc, and make some noise for your teachers! Parade will leave the church parking lot at 2, and we don’t really know how long it will take, probably around 1.5 hours.
If we could ask a BIG favor of all parents: if you are watching the parade at intersections where the parade has to cross a big street, particularly 70th, 75th, and 40th, could you help the parade get across the intersection by helping direct traffic? That would be a big help to keep all the cars together. We planned this route carefully and are hoping to not inconvenience the neighbors too much.
ALSO TO NOTE: When the parade is traveling down arterial streets, the cars will have to go a little faster, as we need to be mindful of not causing traffic to Metro busses.
PLEASE REMEMBER: WE ARE STILL USING SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES!
Please wear masks, if you are near any other people.
Remember to stand 6 feet apart from people that you have not been quarantining with.
Be a good example to others!
THE GRAND FINALE will be the parade driving south on 45th Ave NE, between the View Ridge Park fields, and the big hill at the bottom of our lower field. There is lots of room here for people to spread out and wave and cheer. Dust off your cowbell and be prepared to make some noise!
YEARBOOKS will also be available for pickup at this time. Please see the post by the Yearbook Committee in this week’s Otter Know.
HOPE TO SEE ALL OF YOU OUT THERE!
