Representative Gerry Pollet, of the 46th is asking for everyone to please write Governor Inslee and request to allow teachers to be vaccinated and to arrange for school-site based vaccination.
Here is Representative Pollet’s call to action:
If school re-opening is a priority, then vaccinating teachers and staff has to be as well! That’s how we break the impasse in Seattle. Times reports tonight on 15 of Seattle’s legislators urging the Governor to allow teachers to be vaccinated and arranging school-site based vaccination. City of Seattle is ready to help if allowed. I’ve led the effort to pull together this letter and discussions to try to break impasse after being frustrated that SPS Superintendent Juneau didn’t have any suggestion for legislators to help. The School District is only talking about providing in-person services and education for 600 students with disabilities and delaying Pre-K through First Grade, when they had said we’d already be at over 1,000 students in-person. You can help: go to Governor Inslee’s comment page and urge him to arrange for school-site vaccination of educators and staff: https://www.governor.wa.gov/contact/contact/send-gov-inslee-e-message
