To the View Ridge Community,
On behalf of the PTA, we want to acknowledge the recent news that was released from SPS and their Well Resourced Schools Plan. We know that there is a lot to absorb and take in with variables that everyone is considering. It is likely fair to say we all have questions.
At View Ridge, we have a strong and actively engaged PTA and community focused on supporting our students, teachers, and staff.
To have your voices heard and have a dialogue around these changes, we propose coming together as a community, both with a virtual option and in-person option. The PTA is working to secure these dates before the SPS meetings begin on September 25th.
We look forward to working through these impactful changes together.

From the SPS email that was sent, here is the timeline for this process.
Key Upcoming Dates: To ensure everyone has the opportunity to understand these proposals and share feedback, we are hosting a series of meetings.
- Sept. 11: Refreshed webpages launched with all proposals, criteria, and data.
- Sept. 24: Online information sessions to provide an overview of both options.
- Sept. 25-Oct. 8: In-person meetings in each region for families, staff, and community. Separate SPS staff meetings will also be held.
- Mid to Late October: Superintendent announces the preliminary recommendation.
- November: Public hearings on each proposed school closure.
- December: Final School Board vote before winter break.
You will soon receive invitations to the community meetings, and all details will be posted on our website.
We encourage you to explore the Well-Resourced Schools webpages, stay engaged, and share your thoughts as we navigate this important decision together. Your input is critical in shaping a stronger future for our students.
