Sound Partners, a research-based phonics program designed for one-on-one tutoring will be implemented at View Ridge starting this spring. Sound Partners is designed for tutors working with students who would benefit by letter-sound and decoding skills. We will be implementing this program in a small, controlled fashion to create a strong foundation for next fall. There will be three – 1 hour training sessions at View Ridge Elementary (dates TBD) to get volunteer-tutors familiar with the program.
Adults interested and available to commit to 1 hour per day (8:00 – 9:00am) four times a week or know someone, please contact our Reading Specialist, Carol Donahue: cmdonahue@seattleschools.org. The hope is to have 2-4 tutor volunteers for this spring, and 4-6 in the fall. Stay tuned for more info!
