Greetings 1st & 4th Grade Families!
This is your weekend backpack food collection committee here to let you know that your child’s class will be collecting food for the weekend backpack program serving children in our community who are in need of extra food over the weekends. The donation period will run from Monday, October 28th -Tuesday, November 5th. All of the food collected from classrooms throughout the school year will need to be in individual serving sized packages just as years past. Food collection bins will be located outside or right inside of your child’s classroom.

If you would like to also help assemble the food packs, we do this once a month and produce enough food packs to distribute across a 3-5 week period. The next packing day will be afterschool Wednesday, November 6th. It rarely takes more than 15 minutes and we appreciate all the kids and adults that arrive to assist. We just ask that a supervising adult accompanies any child willing to help.
Families in the past have always been so very supportive of this program and there are so many families and children that really appreciate your generosity. Thanks again for your kind food donation and attention to our Otter Pack program at View Ridge.
