“poem called life”
by K. Williams@ 10:20pm on January 14, 2021
Using one hand to cook
And the other to write
Trying to figure out this thing
Called life
Using one hand to clean
And the other to wipe
Trying to figure out this thing called life
Using one hand and my voice
Letting people know we all have a choice
Using this thing called a pen
Advocating for others, taking a stand
This is what Martin Luther King Jr
Believed in
We all are one nation, we all bleed the same
That is something that NO ONE can ever change
As we come closer to MLK day
We have to tackle this racism in a positive way
There’s nothing pretty about discrimination
That’s why I come to you as a nation
United we stand, divided we fall
What does it mean to conquer it all?
Lots of innocent lives taken in a flash by disguise
They did not hide the pride of our demise
MLK will not see this world in hate
There’s still loves of love to give from past mistakes
Let’s all take a stand and reminisce
For Rosa Parks, MLK Jr, and Malcolm X
They all paved a way for each and every one
I want to make them proud in 2021
