PTA Staffing Survey February and March are the school and PTA budget seasons. The school begins their budget process when they receive projected enrollment numbers from the district – these projections dictate the number of staff allocated for 2022-23 and the total school budget. At the same time, the PTA drafts and approves our budget for the next school year. Each year, this budget has included a contribution by the PTA to the school district to pay for additional staff salaries above what the district allocation provides.
In past years, the PTA has contributed upwards of $200,000 for additional teachers and staff. Despite fantastic efforts from our fundraising team, we will only have about half of that for next year’s supplemental staffing. We will not be able to fund staffing as we normally do and inevitably some positions will go to part-time and we will lose some positions altogether. While we do not yet have numbers from the district, we are beginning to collect data and input from the school community.
