Week 6 Legislative Update

Facebooktwittermail

We are officially half-way through the legislative session and Tuesday, February 15 is the last day for bills to pass out of their house of origin. Legislators have spent most of the past week on the floor, but committees will reconvene this week to hear bills from the opposite house.

Several WA State PTA priority bills will be in the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee on Wednesday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m. HB 1834 will support student mental health, HB 1153 will increase language access in schools, and HB 1955 will help create more educational continuity for children going through dependency proceedings. It takes two minutes to sign-in to support any or all of these bills here and you can watch the committee meeting on TVW.
