COVID-19 Vaccine

Seattle Public Schools (SPS) is offering clinics for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for anyone 3 years and older. The best way to stay healthy and avoid school outbreaks is for students, families, and staff to get vaccinated for routine vaccinations and COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccines are safe, and effective. More than 80 percent of SPS students are already vaccinated.

This summer, the COVID-19 vaccine was approved for our youngest students. The infant/toddler vaccine is a 3-dose vaccination series. All clinics at SPS will offer vaccines for children three and older.

In early September, the FDA and CDC approved an updated COVID-19 booster vaccine that targets the original strain of COVID-19 and the two most common current variants. These will be available at clinics this fall.

Two recent Public Health Insider blog posts address common questions about the updated COVID-19 boosters:

  • When Can I Get The Updated COVID Booster?
  • What We Know So Far and Should I Get An Updated Booster? We Asked An Expert.

Learn the most up to date information about the different COVID-19 vaccines and boosters for all ages on the CDC website and Public Health – Seattle & King County website.

Seattle Public Schools is partnering with Safeway Pharmacy to offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for children 3 years and older, and for adults.

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

Weekend and evening clinics are open to all students, families and SPS staff, regardless enrolled school.

Pre-registration is encouraged for all vaccine clinics. Any person under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to provide consent. Anyone receiving a second dose or booster should bring their vaccination card with them to the clinic.

All clinics will offer the following vaccines:

  • Pfizer infant/toddler doses 1,2,3 for ages 3-4
  • Pfizer pediatric doses 1,2 for ages 5-11
  • Pfizer pediatric booster for ages 5-11
  • Pfizer adult doses 1,2 for ages 12+
  • Pfizer updated booster for ages 12+
  • Othello Station Pharmacy clinics will also offer Moderna brand vaccines
