Legislative Update

Facebooktwittermail

We’re more than halfway through the legislative session and there are still lots of education bills left to fight for! Seattle Council and WSPTA advocates remain focused on fully funding Special Education (a recent Seattle Times Ops Ed summarizes where we are). E2SSB 5311 has a public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, March 14 at 4pm (PTA is taking an other position on this one because it still includes a cap) and ESHB 1436 (46th District Representative Gerry’s Pollet’s bill) and SSB 1109, also both related to Special Education Funding will have a hearing in the Senate Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee on Wednesday, March 15 at 1:30pm.
