Offered by Mr. Azer, 4th Grade Teacher in Room P3, Thursdays after school
Magic: The Gathering is a collectible card strategy game. Two players duel, using cards to cast spells, summon fantasy creatures, and defeat their opponent. Much like chess, the game takes a few days to learn but years to master. It teaches players to use logic and probability to plan several turns in advance. For many people who started playing Magic when they were in 3rd-5th grade, the game has become a lifetime hobby. There are not many in person, social games for 2-8 players that can be truly enjoyed by a 3rd grader and an adult at the same time. Magic is a lot of fun!
This will be my second year running an after school Magic Club. If you would like to give it a try, I will teach you how to play. If you are an experienced player, I will help you advance from your current skill level. I will provide the cards. There is no requirement to purchase cards. Experienced players may be able to bring their own cards to Magic Club after agreement on procedures and expectations. I hope you are excited about joining Magic Club!
