After School Classes main page

What information should you collect from parents when registering children for After-school Classes at View Ridge?

Basic registration information:

  1. Exact dates of class and reinforcement of cancelled dates
  2. Child’s name, grade, room #
  3. Names of two parents; two phone numbers and email for each
  4. Local emergency contact phone # (not parent)
  5. Plan for student pick-up
  6. Medical needs

Parents of students with medical needs who attend PTA sponsored after school programs operated by parent volunteers must ensure that they work directly with the PTA group regarding the provision of care for their children.

Federal regulations generally prohibit the District from sharing confidential  student health information to third parties like After-school class teachers. They can be shared with parent or legal guardian consent and release.

  1. Allergies

Because of food allergies, students cannot share food. The school encourages snacks to be brought by students themselves. If parents donate food for the whole class, it is the responsibility of the families and teachers to communicate food allergies.
