We are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Joan Platt “Awesome Otter” Awards, Ms. Kelly and Ms. Lourde.  Numerous nominations from parents and staff spoke to the individual connections made by both teachers to their students as well as the extensive amounts of time each teacher spends outside the school day working to improve the school.  Both of these teachers were praised for the enormous heart they put into teaching, making the kids and the school a significantly better place because they are here.

We are equally pleased to congratulate this year’s Golden Acord winner, Kasey Downing. Nominators stressed the longevity, breadth and depth of Kasey’s volunteer time at View Ridge.  During her nine years at View Ridge, Kasey has served in numerous volunteer roles, many simultaneously, from cleaning up garbage from the playground, to collecting thousands of box tops, to serving as PTA president for two years.  As one nominator stated, Kasey is “a dedicated member of the VR community who cares about our kids and the health of the school community.”
