Primary Playground Update

Some exciting news around updating our playground:

The older play structure on the playground north of the school (the Primary Playground) is planned for replacement this summer 2021. The project is being carried out by Seattle School District Capital Department and funded by the voter approved BEX V Levy.

We are inviting students to share their ideas for their ideal playground. Students’ thoughts will be incorporated into a Request for Proposal issued to approved playground firms. The District will evaluate submitted proposals and determine the best equipment to support our school and community.

Please click this link for students to complete a survey by December 18th. If your student would like to draw a picture, submit a photo of the drawing to your teacher (they’ll select up to 5 to submit to the Project Manager).

The new equipment is intended to accommodate school age children, with a focus on younger grades and to complement both the lower playground equipment installed 2013 by the PTA, and the kindergarten playground equipment.
