CRITICAL NEED : Due to illnesses from Volunteers and/or their scholar, we are looking at a shortage of volunteers and backup volunteers!

We need a lunch volunteer, recess monitors, and backups for the month of February. In order to keep our scholars and staff supported, we need to pitch in and help keep our school doors open. Supporting Recess and Lunch is essential to make our school flow, support our teachers and staff and keep our school open!

Our lunch layered mitigation strategy is supporting our school environment — we have one of the lowest K-5 elementary in SPS. The more support we have, the more we have the ability to lessen the impact of Omicron as we have seen through our efforts from September to December. Let’s keep #ViewridgeStrong and help our community out.

Supporting the lunch room does the following :

– Implement Layered Mitigation Strategies- Support our overwhelmed Teachers and Staff

– Allows Staff to have a lunch break

– Help our Students have social engagement in their community.

We need more people who can support the school… and our best way of mitigating covid transmission is supporting lunch!

We are looking for 2 UNPAID / 2 Backup Vaccinated volunteers to help facilitate and oversee our students during our lunch/recess at View Ridge Elementary. Backup people are needed to be on call in our community in case of illness.

This is an unpaid opportunity, but the Volunteer perk is access to Rapid antigen tests!First lunch begins at 10:35 am and the last lunch ends at 11:35 am…not including last recess which ends at 11:55 am. The hourly staff will not be transitioning to the last recess but will complete their day at 11:45 am. Report time 10:20 am end time 11:45 = 1.5 hours.
