I want to give a warm thank you to everyone who has contributed to or volunteered with View Ridge this year. Everything that happens in our classrooms, in our building, or outside, only happens thanks to the amazing work of our families and community. In particular I want to express my gratitude for the PTA board and our amazing staff who went above and beyond countless times this year. In my final month serving with this PTA, I’ve taken some time to reflect on what we’ve done over the last two years. We’ve successfully brought families and volunteers back into our building, navigated ambiguous and changing COVID protocols with some of the lowest infection-rates in the city, brought back in-person events (movie night, Boo Ridge, the auction and Mariners game just to name a few). Very dear to me, we’ve also brought back after-school enrichment and expanded our legislative and advocacy activities within the district and state. We’ve been so fortunate to have an incredible and compassionate leader this past year in Mr. McWashington, helping steer our “ship” and sticking with us when I’m sure he’d rather be enjoying retirement. He wouldn’t give up on our kids or our families, and for that we are very blessed. I’ve never been more excited about the potential for this next school year and this next PTA board. I can’t wait to see what they do next!
With gratitude,
Kelsey, View Ridge PTA President
